Sara Dowling is a Singer/Songwriter currently living in London.
Gifted with immensely emotional vocals her influences are wide and far reaching, reminiscent of jazz and  soul greats such as Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin and Candi Statton, but mixed with poetic lyrics and haunting melodies.
Born in Oman to an Irish father and Arabic mother, she spent the early part of her life travelling through the middle east due to the nature of her fathers work. As a child she experienced great journeys through endless desert, in years to come this would provide much inspiration for poetry and lyrics.
At the age of eight her family returned to England where they settled in Cornwall
It was here that she was loaned a Cello by her school and it was then that she realised her natural ability to perform.

The following year she was awarded a full scholarship to Chetham's school of music in Manchester where her parents reluctantly allowed her to attend at the tender age of 12, She received a  thorough classical training on the cello for the next 10 years finally gaining a degree at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Accolades on the cello included performances for Yo Yo Ma and a concerto performance with the Halle Orchestra.
Unfortunately circumstances beyond her control put a stop to a promising career as a cellist and it wasn't until 2009 that Sara was able to re-emerge, this time using her talents as a vocalist.
Since that point she has written and performed her own songs, written songs that have been published by EMI, and more recently she has become involved in the children's show Rastamouse both as a performer and a writer.
Her first EP 'On your Own' is already written and due for release early next year - A collection of songs embracing both the wonderful and cruel realities of life.

"In retrospect, all the things you do from the day you are born carve the figure that stands today. Never ignore anything you enjoy doing, act on everything that inspires you and one day you shall bring them together in beautiful harmony"
